Booking Confirmation
After completing your reservation, you will receive a confirmation email from Miðhraun – Lava Resort, including your booking reference and check-in details.
If you do not receive this email, please contact us at info@lavaresort.is.
Check-in & Check-out
Check-in from 16:00
Check-out until 10:00
Reception & Arrival
Reception is open 16:00 – 18:00 at Hlaðan Restaurant
If you cannot arrive during opening hours, you must request a self check-in before 18:00 on your arrival day via email: info@lavaresort.is
Self check-in is only confirmed once you receive our reply.
Self Check-in – Important
No assistance available after 22:00
Self check-in is not allowed after 24:00 (midnight)
Payment
We accept all major credit and debit cards except American Express
The total amount may be charged 0–7 days before arrival
Credit Card Guarantee
A valid credit card is required and kept on file to cover incidental charges or damages.
Your information is handled securely and confidentially.
Card details will be requested at check-in.
Alternative Payment Options
If you prefer to pay by cash, bank transfer, or invoice, please contact us in advance.

Free cancellation up to 7 days before arrival - Group Reservations (4+ rooms)
Free cancellation up to 30 days before arrival - Full Property Bookings
Free cancellation up to 90 days before arrival - Late cancellation or no-show → full charge
- Non-Refundable Rates
Cannot be changed or canceled
Refunds
Refunds are issued only to the original payment method.
Weather conditions and roads
Weather conditions in Iceland may affect travel and are beyond our control; we recommend guests seek reimbursement through their travel insurance. If roads are officially closed and access to the property is not possible, cancellation fees still apply; however, bookings may be moved to a new date subject to a €50 change fee and any applicable rate differences. Non-refundable reservations cannot be changed or canceled.
